In January 2012 the ‘Swanland Education Centre' opened its doors to children from Pre-School age upwards.
Led by key staff from the original Swanland School Nairobi, the school offered primary age schooling to the children of the Ngando slum area of Nairobi. We have since partnered with a local NGO in Kenya, CEPACET, who now manage all the day to day running of the school. Run by Chryspin and Flouridah Afifu, CEPACET provide a wonderful mix of compassion, local knowledge and management skills. The school, now re-named 'Swanland Village School', is going from strength to strength and now has around 160 children.
The majority of the children are from single parent/carer homes and until now have had no schooling, many living off the streets to survive.
Please help us give these children an education and a hope!
The new school provides:
· Two good meals a day
· A school uniform
· Books and resources
· Primary education and….
· A hope for the future!
